Piano tuning and restoration
Piano tuning
To keep a grand or upright piano in good condition, it's necessary to have a professional check it from time to time and perform tuning. It's really like going to the dentist, just without the pain. How often an instrument needs tuning depends on the intensity of use and the condition of the instrument. During the tuning, I take care of minor adjustments that could later lead to bigger problems, and I also clean the instrument from dust that accumulates inside. This is how the condition and value of a piano or pianino can be preserved in the long term.
Even with average use, there can be things that need repair on an instrument. Most often, these issues occur within the instrument's mechanics. Sometimes they are noticeable during playing, and sometimes they are not. This is why it's worthwhile to check the condition during tuning. In most cases, these issues can be easily resolved on-site. However, if a larger, comprehensive repair or mechanical overhaul is needed, I will transport the action to my workshop to do the work there.
